Tutorial 15 ~ Deluxe Picture Frame |
Hi Folks, Just a little insight on the new borders I put on my lake applets. First I cut the frame pieces from an Indian blanket. You can use any medium you like. I cut out 2 pieces ~ used 1 for sides & 1 for top & bottom. Here they are: Sides are 2B1.gif and top & bottom are 1bb.gif Both are 40 px thick The graphic used in the applet, wolves2.jpg is 562 px x 271 px For the lake applet we will use Actual Width 562 Heigth~Actual 271 x 2 minus 20 = 522 Therefore the actual viewing size of the applet is Width 562 px x Height 522 px As the top & bottom pieces will rest on top of the side pieces (40 px thick) the width of the top and bottom pieces will be 562 px (width of applet) + 40 px (left side) + 40 px (right side) for a total width 642 px height 40 px. The sides need no adjustment and will be the same height of the applet height 522 px width 40 px. The HTML is: Select, copy and paste the above HTML into Notepad and save as DlxFrmTemplate.htm, and put it in your Workshop, C\windows\desktop\lake folder. All other components must be in the workshop folder along with lake.class. This way you can test it on your desktop before using it on your website. Note: It is very important that </applet></td> remain on the same line, otherwise you will have a gap in the bottom of the picture. Front Page will put them on separate lines so you will have to use "Insert HTML" which will keep correct HTML. Notice my source shows tags at beginning & end similar to this <!--webbot bot="HTMLMarkup" If you look at my source you will notice that I have my graphics in a LAKE folder. I do that to help me find things, however, it is not something you need to do. Just personal preference. No need to make different sized borders for other size applets. This can all be controlled in HTML using the same original borders you made from Indian blanket. . . Please click "NEXT" button at bottom of page BTW: I use Hypersnap to cut out the
borders. There are others, Keep smiling Uncle Gus |
